Steps and precautions for using fermentation tanks

2024-09-14 09:26:17

Stainless steel fermentation tanks are commonly used fermentation equipment in industries such as food, chemical, and biopharmaceuticals, suitable for the fermentation of various microorganisms. However, in the production process, if the usage method and some matters are not paid attention to, their service life will be shortened. The following are the usage steps and precautions for stainless steel fermentation tanks.

Steps for using stainless steel fermentation tanks:

  1. Correct the dissolved oxygen electrode and pH electrode.
  2. Sterilization of tanks. Add the culture medium into the tank as needed, seal it as required, and place the tank in a large sterilization pot for sterilization.
  3. After the tank has cooled down, place it on the fermentation platform and install it properly; Turn on the cooling water, turn on the power of the air pump, connect the ventilation pipe to start ventilation, and adjust the intake knob to adjust the ventilation volume appropriately; Turn on the power of the fermentation tank, set the temperature, pH, stirring speed, etc., turn on the machine at 640r/min for 30 minutes, and set the dissolved oxygen electrode to 100.
  4. After the temperature stabilizes and all parameters are correct, connect the pre shaken seeds, start fermentation timing, and start recording various parameters.
  5. After fermentation, clean the tank and electrodes, and insert the electrodes into a triangular flask containing 4M potassium chloride for later use.
  6. Fill in the registration book as required and have it signed by the person in charge.

Precautions for stainless steel fermentation tanks:

  1. Before sterilizing the tank, it is necessary to check the liquid level and ensure that all electrodes are below the liquid level.
  2. Before turning on the power of the fermentation tank, it is necessary to check whether the cooling water is turned on and whether the temperature probe is inserted into the slot, otherwise it will burn out the heating circuit.
  3. During the fermentation process, it is essential to keep the workbench clean. Used culture bottles and other items should be promptly cleaned, and any acidic or alkaline liquids or water that may splash out should be immediately wiped dry.
  4. Special attention should be paid to the pH electrode and vulnerable and expensive components of the tank during installation, disassembly, and sterilization.
